Today was our absolute best day at Squaw ever - and I doubt we’ll ever get it as good again either. Squaw is a big resort, and lots of locals ski there. On a powder day everyone hustles to get first tracks and if you get 3 untracked runs you’ve generally done well. We did the usual morning hustle and got a couple of nice runs off KT22. The top of the mountain was closed to start with because we’d had so much powder everything had to be dug out. Just by chance we heard the gondola was opening up and we were in the first car up. The cars run every twenty minutes so us, and maybe another 50 others, were fortunate to have the top of Squaw, and all it’s lovely powder, to ourselves for 20 minutes. We felt like kids who’d got the keys to the candy store. It was completely exhilarating.
