Meet George

I swore that we would never get a dog until someone invented dog hair glue because I have an intense dislike of having dog hair all over me. Meet George who has genetic dog hair glue - he doesn't shed much at all. We don't actually have him yet but are bringing him home next weekend. The picture was sent to us by the breeder. He is a Goldendoodle and was born on February 15th in a litter of 9 pups. His mum is a Golden Retriever called Autumn and his dad is a Standard Poodle called Alex. He should grow to be about 60lbs.
What came over us? Well, every spring when we start hiking we both feel that we would like to have a dog with us. Add the fact that the area where we plan to build our new house has a lot of bear activity and the presence of a dog can deter a bear. Stir these together with lots of mulling over and ergo George. We think it'll take a few years until we build the house and so getting him now will give us time to train him well and get him house-broken. Expect more photos... Lots and lots of photos...
