Well it’s definitely spring here in Tahoe.  Marley came for a play date today and the boys had fun romping around the golf course.  We’ve only got it to ourselves for another two weeks (then we have to share it with the golfers – sigh!) so we’re determined to enjoy it while we can.

 

Roman here.  As a birthday treat I got the opportunity to fly in a vintage B-17 bomber over Tahoe.  It was great to be able to crawl virtually all over the plane before and during flight.  I am quite interested in WWII aircraft and have read a fair few books on the subject but this experience gave me a much greater appreciation for what the conditions were like for the pilots that flew in the war.  To be up there flying in the kinds of conditions that they had to fly in, being shot at and having to deal with flak is hard to believe.  After being in the air for 20 minutes I had a hard enough time with the turbulence (I am so glad that they had sick bags on board) let alone dodging enemy fire!  A wonderful experience and well worth feeling like crap for the rest of the day.
